Title:The Bride test (Kiss quotient Book 2 according to goodreads (but not really lol)
Author: Helen Hoang

Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but not big, important emotions—like grief. And love. He thinks he’s defective. His family knows better—that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride.
As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can’t turn it down, thinking this could be the break her family needs. Seducing Khai, however, doesn’t go as planned. Esme’s lessons in love seem to be working…but only on herself. She’s hopelessly smitten with a man who’s convinced he can never return her affection.
With Esme’s time in the United States dwindling, Khai is forced to understand he’s been wrong all along. And there’s more than one way to love.
I loved this book! I have to say that I absolutely love Helen’s writing . I enjoyed The kiss quotient so much and I was impatiently waiting for this one. This is said to be book 2, but it’s not a continuation . It just takes place within that family space .
This book has it’s steamy parts . But definitely not like kiss quotient . And that is perfectly fine because we focus on the characters . We have wonderful development.
Esme is our main character . The one coming to the states in hopes that she can be married to get her green card and have a future for herself and her family .
Khai is the young man whose mother has basically found him a mail order bride . . He is autistic and has a difficult time with feelings among many other things . He went though some things in his life which have caused him to be closed to the idea of loving anyone . However , his relationship with his brother is awesome . Love them so much .
Once he agrees to meet with Esme , she starts to teach him about things that are completely foreign to him. But the question is if he will be able to overcome his own obstacles .
This book is smart , humorous and sexy . I absolutely loved it !!
One thing I loved even more was the author’s note at the end of the book. Such a personal look at what was Helen’s inspiration for this book. I loved this so much .
I massively recommend this book to everyone ! And no, you don’t need to read kiss quotient first . (But definitely at some point, because it’s awesome too!!
Thanks for sticking around friends !!
